Welcome to the LottieScript V5.07 ReadMe Page

Thank you for Downloading LottieScript. These few hints are provided for new users, to get you started and ensure your installation is trouble free. It also provides release specific information to allow existing users to decide if they should upgrade.

The vast bulk of the detailed information about how to use LottieScript is contained in the manual, see point 1 below. Here you will also find tips on installing the product over your school network, on multiple computers. You will not need to download these files again to achieve this, simply copy this folder to where it needs to go.

Please email us using info@tthonline.co.uk if you have any problems.

  1. Acrobat Reader.
The printable manual supplied as a PDF file requires the Adobe Acrobat reader before it can be opened. If this is not installed on your machine, please click here. The CD based product has Acrobat readers for Windows 2000, XP and Vista, that you can install off of the disc. However, please be aware that all the same information is also supplied as local hypertext based help, available to the Letter, Phrase, Sentence and Worksheet modules by clicking on the '?' button.
2. Phonic Sounds - reintroduced.
This version of LottieScript supports single letter phonic sounds in conjunction with character highlighting, as described in section 1.4 of the manual. This feature and will upgraded to support synthetic phonics in a future release.
3. Resolved Issues.
Several minor bugs reported during external evaluations of LottieScript are resolved in this release:
3.1 Screen icons disappear when you expand screen to full - on Letter mode - this is resolved

3.2 Truncated Instruction in Sentence module - the instructon to press '#' at the end of input missing - resolved.

4. Known Issues.
4.1 We have had a report that the Pause function did not work in the letter module when the space bar was pressed during a write operation. Tests were unable to replicate this problem on the current codeset.

4.2 Some wide screen monitors may not display all the content of some screens when they first load. This is because the screens are set up to fill a 4x3 aspect ratio, as used on interactive whiteboards and most standard computer monitors. TTH are investigating ways of resolving this issue in a future release.

4.3 Ensure that the brightness and contrast of your monitor is properly adjusted. If the brightness in particular is set too high you will not be able to see the typed form of the characters in the letter, phrase, sentence or worksheet modules. This is especially evident on flat panel displays where, in our experience, the increased setting sometimes goes unnoticed, but is could affect the display of many types of content.

4.4 For clarification; in the worksheet module the printable area is indicated by a white rectangle, but there is nothing to prevent you typing beyond the edge of this. You must layout your work within the indicated area to ensure that it will print fully. Also, you may select only the output size (A5, A4 or A3) your work will be scaled to this size when printed, the size on the screen remains the same.
